Initial Consultation and Testing
I set aside a few hours each week to meet with families and answer their questions about test prep and academic support. I will be happy to take the time to find a solution that fits your needs and your budget.
I’m able to achieve the results I do when tutoring because I spend the time up front to understand each student’s situation, strengths, and abilities. I use this information to create a plan to help them reach their goals. I offer a 30-minute consultation and a cognitive assessment (through Mindprint Learning) for free. No strings attached.

About the Consultation
When We Meet...
We’ll spend 30 minutes chatting about your student and their needs. I’ll ask you about their academic history, any relevant diagnoses, and their strengths and weaknesses. For older students (high schoolers and up), I like a chance to speak with them, too. Before we meet, I’ll ask you to send me any documents that you feel comfortable sharing that might help me understand your student better: grades, transcripts, 504/IEP, even neuropsych evals.
For some students, especially test prep students, I like to hit the ground running. That means understanding as much as possible about their thinking and learning styles before we meet. To do that, I use a cognitive assessment provided by MindPrint Learning. MindPrint is the only K12 solution that uses objective cognitive data to teach students how they learn best and provides strategies personalized to my students’ learning strengths and needs.
After We Meet...
After the consultation (and possibly the cognitive assessment), I’ll review my notes and any documents you sent. I’ll use this information to propose a learning plan for your student, complete with concrete and achievable goals and a tentative timeline.
This learning plan is my gift to you, so you can do what you like with it. I’ll usually recommend and walk you through the following options.
Using the study plan, you’ll work through the steps on your own. Some students who are self-starters or who only need a little help do well with this option. If you’d like to meet just once or twice to clarify some material or get back on track, you can schedule some a la carte sessions ($110 for 45m).
I run small group test prep sessions a few times a year. I time these to end right before the test, so students are as prepared and fresh as possible before testing. If I’m running one that lines up with your timeline, I’ll let you know, or you can wait until the time works better for you.
For students who want private lessons, I offer pay-as-you-go sessions or packages of four lessons. I’ll take all the organization and management off your plate so you can focus on getting good test scores. Students usually book six to ten sessions to complete the study plan and feel ready for the test.
