Test Prep Designed with Neurodiverse Learners in Mind
All three of our test prep programs have an unusual format.
For our 1:1 program, we don't charge by the hour, but by the result: a one-time flat fee for as much prep as a student needs in a certain timeframe. In our small group program, we invite students to attend as many classes a week as they like.
This allows us to devote the maximum amount of care and attention to each student. It also ensures that students who are slower learners aren't charged disproportionately more.
We require all students interested in one-on-one ACT or SAT prep to begin with the Score Potential Discovery Package, which you can access by clicking the button below. Families interested in small group or hybrid programs can sign up directly or book a call first to see if the program will fit their needs.
Option #1:
One-on-One 12-Week Score Sprint
All students interested in one-on-one prep are required to start with a brief assessment. We only take students we are certain we can help reach their score goals.
One-to-one test prep for twelve weeks with expert tutors. Hours of instruction each week, supervised practice tests, around-the-clock support, regular updates for parents, and our milestone system to keep students on track - if students do the work, they earn credit towards more tutoring for tests past the 12 weeks.
Start with 2 sessions/week, work up to more if we're falling behind schedule (as measured on regular practice tests)
Work entirely with Jonah for test-taking strategy and test-specific techniques; learn content from 2 test-specific content expert (one for verbal and another for math)
Only four students enrolled for each test date, so spots fill up fast - inquire for availability and/or to get on the waitlist
Best For: students who work best with more supervision and structure, or for students who need a lot of points.
Pricing: each package is customized based on how long we have until the test and the student's level of need, but the standard approach is 12 weeks of prep (30-50 hours of tutoring) for $7,995.
If you're comparing rates, that comes to $160-$265/hr, based on how many additional hours the student needs.
Option #2:
Small Group
This program is intended for hard-working high school students who didn’t score as high as they expected to score on the ACT or SAT (real or mock test, or PSAT, or even Pre-ACT).
It's designed for students who will follow a week-by-week ACT/SAT action plan tailored specifically to their needs and timeline, and who would benefit from weekly small group meetings to keep them on track and accountable with their work.
It includes:
Live small group calls: at least 5 per week (attend as many as you like, but we recommend at least 2)
Custom test prep study plan, edited by tutors as-needed to better support each student's learning
Asynchronous question help so students get unstuck fast
Best For: students who mostly need to know what to study, not how to study. We provide the plan and accountability; they do the work.
Pricing: $399/4-week-cycle (and most students take 3-4 cycles to reach their goal scores).
Option #3:
Hybrid One-on-One/Small Group
This program is designed for students who have the time and the flexibility to work through a custom study plan, but who need more guidance and structure than the small group program provides.
This is an upgrade to the small group program. It includes:
Everything in small group from above
Access to test-specific weekly small group meetings with Jonah on advanced topics (currently Sunday afternoons)
Weekly digest emails for parents on student progress (meetings attended, assignments completed, etc)
Weekly one-on-one 60-minute lessons with a tutor of the student's choice from the core team (that is, anyone except Jonah)
Best For: students who benefit from ongoing structure, mentorship, and encouragement from a dedicated tutor, but don't need support from the whole team.
Pricing: $1199/4-week-cycle (and most students take 3-4 cycles to reach their goal scores). That price includes the small group cost, so the upgrade itself is $800 (or $200/hr in one-on-one tutoring).
FAQ
What are your rates?
All our test prep students start with an assessment + 45m consultation + study plan package, which costs $197. Referrals from past clients and education professionals are eligible for 50%-100% off.
Each test prep program varies widely based on the student, because we offer unlimited sessions: as many as you need to reach your goal score. That means that the hourly rate each family pays is extremely variable, and we're hesitant to list anything here as I don't want to set any kind of expectation--low or high.
Since each program involves a different number of hours, the final hourly rate equivalent is highly variable, but it usually ends up in the $120-$220 range.
Do you only work with neurodiverse students?
We also work with neurotypical students if they are a good fit for our thorough approach.
Most, but not all, of our students have learning differences of some kind. About two-thirds of our current students (as of January 2025) have what we would call a "learning disability".
Most of the remainder are what we would call "gifted" kids. The common theme is students who don't learn at their best in a traditional classroom and who would benefit from instruction that is more personalized to their preferences.
Which learning differences do you have experience with?
We have extensive experience working with autistic students, and about half of our students at any given time, on average, are autistic.
Many of our students also present with a combination of an attention disorder (ADD/ADHD) and a processing disorder (like dyslexia or dyscalculia).
We have less experience working with students who identify as disabled in other ways, but have worked with students with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, and deaf people. We are looking to develop our expertise more in these areas and are willing to lower our rates to compensate for our lack of experience when compared to the hundreds of other students we've worked with without these disabilities.
Do you offer in-person lessons, or only virtual?
We occasionally host small group lessons in the Charlottesville, VA area. The remainder of our lessons are conducted virtually via Zoom and other software tools we use to enhance our instruction.
